Wild Samburu Safari – Explore Samburu 3-day Adventure

If you’re looking for a genuine African safari experience, but short on time, then this 2-day Samburu safari is perfect for you. Nestled in the heart of the Laikipia is a national park with a wealthy and diverse population of Africa’s most majestic wildlife. Your chances of seeing all manner of wildlife are high in Samburu National Park; from large herds of elephants, zebras, and buffaloes to prides of lions and other big cats.

Although the park is fairly small, it makes up for it with a diverse animal and plant life sprinkled all over the open bushland and savanna landscape. On our Samburu adventure safari, you may also get to see the altruistic African wild dogs along with various bird species.

Samburu 3 Days Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Park

Our adventure starts early morning with us picking you up from Nairobi and driving to Samburu Park. The drive is a fairly long one but still an amazing experience. Along the way, you’ll see agricultural-rich lands transition into arid savannahs. Long before we reach the park, we may start seeing wildlife roaming the lands and sometimes crossing the road.

We finally reach the park and start our Samburu Kenya safari after clearance at the gate. The park is beautiful to behold right from the onset. Soon after, we’ll be on our evening safari tour which provides the best chances of viewing big cats. Our Samburu safari continues towards the Ewaso Nyiro river where the Samburu people bring their cattle for water.

If we’re lucky, we may see the special five of Samburu: reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, and gerenuk.

We head back to our lodge/camp by the river for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 02: Full Day in Samburu

We spend the day exploring Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives, offering excellent chances to spot unique wildlife. In between, enjoy leisure time at your camp by unwind by the pool or choose an optional activity such as a guided nature walk, cultural visit, or relaxing massage, depending on your accommodation.

Day 2: Samburu – Nairobi

After an early breakfast, we head out for one last Samburu safari in the soft glow of the sunrise. A morning game drive provides many opportunities to view animals we may have missed.

Our drive back to Nairobi begins mid-morning as we say goodbye to Samburu National Park.

Before our drive, you can choose to embark on another safari adventure in Maasai Mara. You can also opt to go on a hiking adventure in Mt Kenya or Mt Kilimanjaro.

Our adventure ends in Nairobi late afternoon.
